Luke 14:23

On the day of Pentecost when the New Testament church was officially established, Jesus gave his disciples--followers--a commission. This commission was to go and be witnesses to Christ, not to themselves, but to the risen LORD (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).

Evangelism is not just an event. It involves a total lifestyle. The mission has not changed. CHRIST still wants HIS people to take HIS message to the ends of the earth. The message is that "He was wounded for our transgression" and "bruised for our iniquities" (Isaiah 53:5). He took on Himself the punishment that we deserved for our sins (Romans 6:23) so that we would not have to bear it.

CHRIST is still building a people for Himself from "all nations and tongues" and we're the vehicle that He uses. To the extent that we participate in that effort by going into the "...highways and hedges, and compel them to come in...", we're helping to bring about the completion of GOD"S plan which is the mission of Outreach Ministry.
